I like to think that I travel with pretty much all the gear that I need. I have chargers and adapters, cameras and a phone, a computer, memory cards and card adapters, and a great backpack to carry it all. I found, during a recent trip to Joshua Tree, that there was something I was missing. With extremely limited service and no power, my phone quickly died after roaming for service. I had to sit in the car with it running to get enough charge for a picture. I searched for a solar powered power pack that would eliminate my power needs when in remote places and I found the SunJack 14W +8000mAh Battery. I receive one for review and it is a powerful and durable solar charger that provides rugged outdoor power when I need it.
The SunJack 14 Watt Portable Solar Charger is small and slim. It easily fits in my backpack and is shock, vibration, and weather resistant. I can charge my phone, tablet, and camera or any USB device on the go. It comes complete with a battery pack too so I can get a charge even when the sun isn’t out.
I added it to my pack to see if it weighed me down and it’s not the lightest solar powered charger on the market, but at 1.75 lbs, it’s worth the weight, especially considering how much extra batteries would weigh for each of my devices.
I tested it out on my iPhone 6+ and it was fully charged in 86 minutes. It also fully charges the SunJack battery in five hours of direct sun and holds enough juice for 4 smartphones or 1 tablet.
It comes with a Quickstart Guide but I didn’t need it to get started. It was super easy to use and comes complete with everything I needed to get started.
The SunJack 14W +8000mAh Battery eliminates my power dependency. It’s a renewable energy source that is engineered to perform, crafted to last, and designed to make outdoor, rugged life better.
****Disclosure of Material Connection: I received the SunJack 14W +8000mAh Battery for free from SunJack in consideration for a gear review. All options are my own.****
