Home Gym Equipment for the Whole Family

By: Lesley Posted in: Family, Home Life
Home Gym Equipment

We haven’t been able to workout at the gym during the last year because of Covid so we decided to spend the money we normally spend attending a gym on making a home gym for our family. Home gym equipment that works for all of us, regardless of age, was easy to find. There are so many options out there, but we wanted it to be fun and unique while still providing a great workout.

Of course, we have the basic equipment like weights and kettle bells, but we’ve added some more unique equipment that encourages us to try new things and enjoy the process.

We converted our single car garage into a workout space filled with home gym equipment and other fun experience options. Between what we created at home and our outdoor equipment, we no longer feel the need to hit the gym… at least not one outside of our house. Check out what home gym equipment we added to make it fun for the whole family.

Home Gym Equipment for the Whole Family

Thick Folding Panel Gymnastics Mat

Thick Folding Panel Gymnastics Mat from Costway

Working out at home doesn’t have to be complicated. You can create fun games and obstacle courses for an excellent workout for the whole family. A Thick Folding Panel Gymnastics Mat is the perfect starting point for helping you stay fit at home.

This thick folding panel gymnastics mat from Costway is ideal for multiple exercises, not only for gymnastics but also for pilates, stretching, yoga, martial arts, and many other general exercises.

It’s lightweight and portable with velcro on two edges to connect end to end, which allows for multiple units to be connected together. The smaller size of this mat allows us to place it under the monkey bars and along the wall for protection in the corners of the gym. We can also fold it up and use it for extra height when Athena wants to practice her walkovers.

It’s made from eco-friendly PU cloth and high-quality EPE foam. It will ease the pain for any falls and can reduce injury when doing exercise.

There is a zippered cover in each mat so it can be easily removed and machine washed. Also, it can be folded for easy carry and storage.

Air Track Mat

Air Track Mat

Although we love the thick folding panel mat, we wanted to include a mat that was much longer to cover more space in the gym. The Starzcom Air Track Mat is the perfect fit.

Starzcom’s inflatable air track mat is a professional tumble mat for gymnasts. It ensures safe and comfortable practice and is lightweight and portable.

At 10 feet long, it covers a lot more space on the floor and allows Athena to do multiple flips back-to-back. I also feel more comfortable during cartwheels and handstands on the mat because of the size.

It’s made from military grade PVC with a double layer rail tape and a drop stitch material so we’re confident that it’s going to last.

Although the air track mat is designed for gymnasts and tumblers, it’s also perfect for adults and kids wanting to do any type of stretching, yoga, and many other general exercises. Even baby Max loves to sit and learn to stand on the mat. It’s great for absorbing impact and reducing the risk of injuries.

If we had to choose one mat for the home gym, it would be the Starzcom Air Track Mat.

STEALTH

STEALTH

STEALTH turns playing games into an amazing core workout. It’s great for both kids and adults.

It’s the world’s first interactive core trainer with Gameplay Technology, which means that you are cleverly led through a dynamic core workout while playing a game of capturing targets and scoring points. The result is a more challenging core workout than the static plank, while your attention is focused on gameplay.

The movement targets a total of 29 different muscles, including your abs, obliques, and lower back by twisting, turning and rotating.

My daughter loves challenging me to the best time on the STEALTH core trainer and she always wins, but we both have fun while training our core.

Monkey Bars

Monkey Bars from Smart D2 Playrooms

Monkey bars are a great way to strengthen fine and gross motor skills, as well as increase cardiovascular flow.

These monkey bars from Smart D2 Playrooms are extremely high quality and they were installed by a professional so they can withstand the weight of a child or an adult.

Ready to test your skills? Just want to monkey around? With the best material for improving your grip, these monkey bars are a great way to get active.

AirRoll for Tricking and Gymnastics

AirRoll for Tricking and Gymnastics

The Acon AirRoll for Tricking and Gymnastics is great for training flips both forward and backward. It’s also a great way to stretch and work your core. There are plenty of ways to get creative with an air roll.

It’s extremely durable and the perfect size for children or adults.

The really fun part about the AirRoll is that it’s so lightweight that on beautiful days, you can take it outside and continue your workout wherever you’d like. We live really close to a beautiful park. It’s fun bring the AirRoll with us and getting in an additional workout outside.
