Fiji has bucket list adventures around every corner. A country blessed with 333 magnificent islands, Fiji is a place where you can do it all or do nothing at all and still have the most amazing experience of your life. After spending 10 days there, I chose 5 adventures in Fiji that would delight even the most extreme adventure seeker. After all, you can do it all in Fiji!
Top 5 Adventures in Fiji
5. Surfing with Fiji Surf Co.
At Fiji Surf Co., surfing is not just a sport, but a lifestyle that has a profound effect on culture and society. Their main objective is to develop, promote, and encourage surfing amongst the Fijian people so that they will have a better understanding of this exciting sport. They teach students of all ages and skill levels while emphasizing respect and enjoying the waves.
Fiji Surf Co has had a very interesting journey in its 23 years from finding remote waves on islands / reefs all around Fiji to helping shape the first and only SURF LAW called the SURF ACT in the world.
Even just one lesson surfing makes you much better equipped to surf on your own. Learning to surf can be hard and is known to have a steep learning curve, but once you grasp the concept it gets easier. If you are a beginner or intermediate surfer and are looking to quickly improve your skills in the water, Fiji Surf Co. is a great place to start.
4. Whitewater Rafting
Rivers Fiji introduced us to the Upper Navua Gorge. Our exploration of this amazing river was one of the most unique journeys in all of Fiji. We were taken through some of the country’s most formidable and phenomenally beautiful terrain. There is not one waterfall but over fifty; not one short stretch of deep, narrow canyon, but kilometers.
This is a place where black volcanic walls are at points barely five meters apart and over forty meters high and fringed by emerald rainforest. This is a place where man has been merely an intermittent visitor at best, where some of the wildest and most beautiful Fiji can still be found.
3. Go Dirty Buggy Tours
Go Dirty Buggy Tours took us into the interior of the Sabeto valley, across rivers, mud pools, and endless mounds of dirt. Our 1100cc mean machines brought out the rally car driver in us all as we smashed through water holes, cane fields, and winding dirt tracks.
Even when we stalled, Matt, from Expert Vagabond, and I had a blast pretending to be making turns and ripping through the dirt.
I defined “dirty”! It was every kid’s dream.
The dirt was so caked all over us in the end that the tour operator decided to drive us back to the resort in the buggies rather than putting us in their van.
2. Ziplining
The WHOOSH of adrenaline filled my blood as I soared through the rainforest, enjoying the views and distinctive flora and fauna from a unique perspective with Zip Fiji.
We zipped over eight lines high above the forest floor and the Wainadoi River valley. Keeping in mind that the tour is in the RAINforest, it was expected that we would get a little “liquid sunshine” but it only added to our slick fun.
1. Skydiving
Remaining number one on my adventure list is skydiving. When it comes to skydiving, the higher you go, the bigger the rush so when I went 14,000 feet with Skydive Fiji the rush was epic.
It’s difficult to tell where the sky meets the ocean when skydiving in Fiji. The view can’t be any better; this must be what it looks like from Heaven.
Does it get any better than the experience of a lifetime over the most beautiful setting possible? Even after the parachute opened, I was still greeted with captivating views of pristine blue waters, white sandy beaches, and beautiful fringing coral reefs of the Mamanuca Islands and Denarau.
Which ones would you consider? Which one sounds the best? What’s on your adventure bucket list? We’d love to hear from you!
The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams.

The more unrealistic we are with our dreams and goals, the more we are able to achieve 🙂

Amazing! I’d like to experience all of them.
The buggy ride looks like a lot of fun and I’ve never been before. I’ve been skydiving, zip lining, and white water rafting before.
I think white water rafting be my most desirable activity from this list. I’m assuming Fiji has at least a decent climbing and mountain biking playground, so how come it not on the list?!?!?!?!?! Ha!

Wow! Skydiving definitely sounds like the ultimate adventure, but if I make it to Fiji the one item on my must-do list will be surfing. Though I’d rather take a page from your book and try all 5 🙂 #BulaFijiAirways

It’s a long time since I’ve been in Fiji. My dad worked there, and numerous other far flung, exotic places, (he had an unquenchiable wanderlust). He still loves to travel but doesn’t go so far now! My mum, brother and I went to visit him, in Fiji, and in numerous other overseas countries, during the school holidays. He hated working in the UK! Your articles and photos are wonderful. I’m really enjoying your blog.
