Cool Beans Cafe – Our Favorite Palm Beach Restaurant

Cool Beans Cafe Playland

Keeping a 3 year old entertained while at a restaurant isn’t always the easiest task, and it is a task even if there are crayons and a coloring book. Sometimes I wonder why I go out to eat at all, especially when traveling or after a long day of flights but Cool Beans Cafe is the perfect solution. It’s designed to offer a stimulating environment for children and a relaxing, cozy oasis for adults. They are an enrichment center offering a variety of classes and activities for children and a gourmet cafe serving healthy and fresh items and specialty coffees. Athena and I went during a rainy spell yesterday and we spent three hours in a welcoming, entertaining environment for both of us.

Downtown at the Gardens in Palm Beach Gardens, Cool Beans is 6,000+ sq ft of indoor play space complete with a toddler and infant area, giant foam pit, story time nook, trampolines, slides and a costume area.

I relaxed in the cafe with a hot tea and free Wi-Fi while Athena played with two children her age in the play area. She came into the dining area twice to tell me how much fun she was having and check in with me but I could see she was fine through the glass windows that surround the play space. It was the ideal way to spend a rainy afternoon.

After burning off a ton of energy, we sat down together for a healthy bite to eat. Athena munched on a grilled cheese sandwich with a side of grapes and a juice box. I enjoyed oven roasted turkey with Swiss cheese on a ciabatta roll. Athena devoured everything on her plate and my sandwich was melt-in-my-mouth delicious.

We both returned to the play area and I relaxed on one of the comfy couches while Athena played a game with the parachute. The staff play creative games with the kids and interact with them. Parents can get involved if they like but they are free to relax in either the cafe or the play area.

For the last half hour, I played dress up with Athena before getting ready to go. The only requirement for both kids and adults is that you have socks. If you didn’t bring them, you can purchase them there. It was no surprise that neither of us were wearing socks. We spend at least 360 days a year in sandals so we were grateful that we could buy them there.

When it was time to leave, Athena was exhausted but happy. Rather than spending the afternoon in the hotel room complaining about the rain, we had a blast in a unique setting. If Cool Beans Cafe was in SoCal, it would be our new hangout spot. What a fantastic place to get some work done while Athena plays with other kids in an educational environment. We’ve been introduced to so many unique experiences while in Pam Beach and we’ve only been here a few days. We’re both excited to see what’s to come.

I was considering the snooze option as well, especially since I’m traveling alone with Athena for the full week. It can get tiring.
