The Ultimate Travel Watch – Casio Edifice EQB-600

Casio Edifice EQB-600

I never have enough time. I never have the right time. I can never remember what time it is at home in California or in Nova Scotia when I’m calling my grandparents or Alberta for my parents. Gosh! Time is a struggle for me. I always wear a watch even if I have my phone with me. I bought a cheap watch from Walmart that cost me less than $10. It doesn’t exactly go with anything and it looks like a child’s watch, but it has many of the features that I like. Not everyone puts so little effort into their watch choice though. Like rings, it can be a statement piece and I’ve been searching for the perfect travel watch that has dual time zones and could be worn with any outfit, regardless if I’m treking or at the theater. I’ve yet to find it for women but I think I’m close for men with the Casio Edifice EQB-600. The Casio Edifice EQB-600 has a three-handed 3D analog dial, together with three sub-dials, every one displaying a second time zone, the day of the week, and the rotation of the Earth, respectively. It uses solar energy, is armed with Bluetooth, and offers the Global Time Sync concept. Plus, it looks gorgeous. Traveling doesn’t have to be without style with the Casio Edifice EQB-600.

As part of the Global Time Sync collection, the Casio Edifice EQB-600 is able to link with a smartphone to adjust and set the time corresponding with 300 cities globally. When you’re always on the road trying to catch the next train, bus, plane, or donkey, it’s good to know that you have the accurate time in the right time zone. It’s simple to sync with your phone and you can be confident that you always have the correct time. The directions can be intimidating because the watch comes with a book of instructions but it takes only minutes to sync and it’s a one time process.

The watch is reset regularly 4 times a day by the smartphone to show both home time and world time correctly. You can also reset the watch manually with just a push of a button when crossing between time zones. Home Time is displayed on the main dial and World Time on the inset dial. This is always a struggle for me. Most times, I don’t even know the day of the week; forget what time zone but I want to stay in touch with Athena daily when I travel without her. I usually leave my watch on “home time” so I know what time it is for her but the Casio Edifice EQB-600 eliminates that struggle completely, always displaying both times. Having the day of the week at hand can also be a Godsend. You’d be surprised just how much jetlag is a real thing and a simple thing like filling out customs forms can be a hassle when you don’t even know the day of the week.

The solar power system transforms even weak light from sources such as fluorescent lamps into ample energy to provide stable operation of various high-load functions. The approximate battery operating time is 5 months on rechargeable battery (operation period with normal use without exposure to light after charge). Long past your phone’s battery, you’ll still have the time regardless of your location.

Even if all the bells and whistles don’t interest you, the Casio Edifice EQB-600 is a sweet looking watch. The application of a polarizing deposition causes the 3D globe dial’s appearance to change depending on the viewing angle. A combination of stainless steel and aluminum, the strap is high-quality and the face has an eye-catching blue globe. It looks as sharp as it tells time. The Casio Edifice EQB-600 packs advanced technology into a dynamic design.
