Beaches Negril Resort in Jamaica is consistently rated one of the top all inclusive family resorts in the world. Who wouldn’t love all inclusive drinks and dining, a super kids club, more water sports than most resorts, including free scuba diving, an array of entertainment, an 8,000-square-foot water park, and seven miles of white sand beach? With all of that to offer, it’s hard to fit everything in during your stay. We’ve come up with a Beaches Negril bucket list to help you choose the best of the best at Beaches Negril. You really can’t go wrong with any of the activities there but there are some experiences that are so unbelievable that they just can’t be missed.
Beaches Negril Bucket List
Number One: Snorkeling Trip to the Reef
Every water sport imaginable is included at Beaches Negril along with top-of-the-line equipment and professional instruction. In just five days, we enjoyed catamarans, kayaks, paddleboards, water bikes, wakeboards, water skies, and a banana boat. We also went on a glass bottom boat and a snorkeling trip.
Our favorite water adventure was the snorkeling trip. We snorkeled with dozens of fish along a beautiful reef and we didn’t need to pay an extra fee to do it. All the water sports were completely free of charge. We just booked a time with the Dive Shop, showed up a few minutes before, and went on the trip. There weren’t even restrictions on how many times we could go. We went once as a family with Athena and again the next day on our own while she was at the kids club.
Number Two: Pirates Island Water Park
The waterpark features two slides each 204 feet long, smaller slides for younger kids, a splash deck, pirate bucket drops, and a 92 feet meandering lazy river. I would have paid to spend a day in Jamaica at a waterpark but we didn’t even need to leave the property. We floated along the lazy river while looking out at the turquoise waters and we sat atop a huge seat, anxiously awaiting a bucket of water to spill over us.
Number Three: Kimonos Restaurant
Kimonos restaurant serves mouthwatering cuisine prepared by skillful chefs who entertain with tricks while cooking on an iron grill. From skillful singing to juggling cooking utensils and food, you never know what the chefs have up their sleeves.
All of the restaurants offer delicious food and exceptional service but Kimonos restaurant takes it one step further with dinner and a show.
Number Four: Beach Sunsets
Negril is known for its amazing sunsets and Beaches Negril doesn’t disappoint. Our days were packed full of fun activities and adventures but we made time each evening to sit on the beach and watch the sun kiss the day goodbye.
Number Five: Kids Camp
The only reason the kids camp isn’t on the top of the list is because not everyone has kids. Open from 9 am to 9 pm, the kids camp features a wide range of activities in a safe environment, supervised by trained nannies. Athena was so happy at kids camp that she wanted to go daily. She made crafts, participated in a fashion show and scavenger hunts, played at the waterpark, met Sesame Street characters, and made new friends while at the kids camp. It gave us time to participate in some activities as a couple while knowing that she was safe and having fun. With a staff that’s so caring, it felt like Athena was with family.
Number Six: Liquid at Beaches Bar
Shaun and Keno made Liquid at Beaches Bar one of our favorite places to relax and have the best drinks on the property. They treated us like family and kept the drinks, and the delightful conversation, coming. They made the beach bar like our kids camp. It was the ideal location too. We could look out at the ocean with our feet in the sand and still watch Athena at the waterpark.
Ask Shaun for the Bushwacker, combining coffee liqueur, rum, Irish cream, vodka, amaretto, and coconut cream in a blended drink and soak up the tastes of the islands.
