Since moving to Montreal a year ago, we’ve been exploring the province of Quebec and discovering the best places for family adventure and fun. We first visited Mont Tremblant in the winter. It was a winter wonderland full of ski slopes and snow-capped mountains. The family-friendly Tremblant offered ski lessons for all ages and ample activities to keep you active the entirety of your stay. Our recent Mont Tremblant summer visit further confirmed that Mont Tremblant is the perfect family destination, but what makes it so notable? Check out below for our reasons why Mont Tremblant is the perfect family destination and you’ll be packing your bags regardless of the season.
Three Reasons Why Mont Tremblant is the Perfect Family Destination
Number One: Accessibility
Everything you could want to do in Mont Tremblant is located within walking distance or, at most, a short drive. The village offers bountiful accommodations, dining, and activities that cover a wide variety of interests and all age levels. If you’re staying in the lower village, you can ride the free gondola to the upper village and vice versa. The entire village is build as a pedestrian village so walking is easy and encouraged. All of the hotels have parking and there are other nearby parking options as well. Usually when we visit, we park our car and there is no need to use it again until it’s time to leave.
Number Two: Accommodations
In the winter at Mont Tremblant, you can’t beat staying at Fairmont Tremblant. They are the closest hotel to the slopes and the only “ski-in/ski-out” hotel in Tremblant with ski valet service, ticket counter, and a ski and snowboard rental shop. There are 314 rooms and suites and a recent $6.5-million renovation transformed the hotel’s spa, lobby, and other public areas. They have a spectacular terrace with heated outdoor pools open year-round and a 24-hour fitness centre and indoor pool.
In the summer months, though, Holiday Inn Express & Suites Tremblant sits just a stone’s throw away from everything that Mont Tremblant has to offer at reasonable prices. Holiday Inn Express & Suites Tremblant isn’t just in the perfect location. It offers suites large enough to accommodate the entire family, regardless of the size. Even traveling with four adults and one child wasn’t a challenge staying at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Tremblant. Our suite offered two queen beds in a closed bedroom and a sofa-bed in the living room. It also featured a full kitchen, dishwasher, and a gas fireplace. The rooms are air-conditioned, equipped with bathtub and shower, tvs in the living area and bedroom, balcony, and complimentary Wi-Fi. As if that wasn’t a lot already, we also had an adjoining upstairs room with a queen bed, table, mini fridge, and full bathroom. Additionally, there is free Express Start™ Breakfast, sauna, outdoor whirlpool bath, and swimming pool in the summer.
Regardless if you’re visiting in the summer or the winter, Mont Tremblant has plenty of onsite hotels that cater to families.
Number Three: Activities
Known for its great powder, 269 hectares of ski terrain, and 96 runs, it wouldn’t be a Mont Tremblant winter without skiing. Children ages 3-12 can enjoy a half day or full-day group ski or snowboard lesson. Whether it’s for one day or a longer stay, kids will improve their skiing or snowboarding technique with children their own age and level while sharing a memorable experience with a certified instructor. Adult lessons are also available. Tremblant Snow School offers adult group lessons from 2-hour to 7-days. Adult group lessons are offered to skiers and snowboarders aged 13 and over. If you’d prefer even more one-on-one time with the instructor, Mont Tremblant offers private or semi-private lessons. Whether on skis or on a snowboard, you can quickly improve your technique and pick the duration of your lesson according to your needs.
