Summer is here and I couldn’t be more excited! I love all things summer, especially sunshine, barbecues, pool parties, and traveling. We’re on the road a lot in the summer because Athena is out of school and there are no limits to where we can go. One of the first things you need to consider when thinking about how to plan a trip is what essentials you need to bring. I put together a short list of summer travel essentials that we don’t leave home without because what good is having summer travel plans if you don’t have a few fun summer essentials to bring with you?
Summer Travel Essentials
MarsQuest sunglasses are my favorite for the summer. I love them so much that I have multiple pairs for different occasions. Their bright, bold colors are fun for the whole family with styles for men, women, unisex, and children.
My favorite everyday summer look is the F · Gold x Pink. The lenses are triacetate with Anti-Scratch technology and UV400 protection, and the premium titanium and stainless steel mount holds up against my adventurous spirit. Athena adores her K · Fuscia and doesn’t leave home without them. All MarsQuest sunglasses come with a cute leatherette case with microfiber cleaning cloth, customized box, and decorative sticker set.
There are some things that you shouldn’t leave home without and sunscreen is on the top of that list, especially in the summer when the sun is at its strongest. Sunscreens use either a physical or chemical filter to protect your skin from the sun’s rays. Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide are natural mineral sun blocks that sit on your skin and stop both UVA and UVB rays from penetrating your skin. Chemical sunscreens use synthetic chemicals to reflect the sun’s rays after they have penetrated the skin’s surface. Clearly, a natural mineral sun block is best and we don’t leave home without our LASPA Mineral Sunscreen.
LASPA Moisturizing Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 is an all natural, Zinc based sunscreen that’s perfect for protecting and moisturizing sensitive skin. LASPA Daily Sun Protection Mineral Sunscreen SPF 20 is thinner and more suited for use under foundation or activities with less direct sun. Both are very water and sweat resistant, 100% natural, clinically tested, chemical free, and fragrance free.

There are very few things that I bring on every single trip regardless of temperature or destination, but a watch always makes the cut. All of my travels are filled with activities and adventures and knowing the time is important to making it all fit. It’s difficult to find a watch that is stylish enough to wear for any occasion and reliable enough to risk my schedule on. My phone battery often dies, leaving me relying solely on a watch. Tense Watches are the perfect style and function for me. Their recycled and reclaimed wood has a unique original look and they are manufactured by hand in Canada. I found their Small Compass watch and instantly knew it was the perfect fit for me.
Regardless if I’m manning the helm of a ship, jumping out of a plane, or attending a dinner party, Tense’s Small Compass is a great fits my style and active life.
