The Disney Wish is Disney’s newest cruise and we were invited on the inaugural sail. We are huge Disney Parks fans and nothing makes me happier than being at sea so a Disney cruise combines so many of my favorite things. All new enchantment and fantastical worlds awaited during our cruise and we were in awe every moment of the trip. Check out our five favorite experiences on the Disney Wish, especially when traveling with children. From immersive, theatrical dining to Broadway-style shows, Disney Wish is a dream come true.
Five Best Experiences on Disney Wish
Frozen-Theme Theatrical Dining
One of our absolute favorite Disney Wish experiences is the Frozen-Themed Theatrical Dinner.
During the experience, you are whisked away to the enchanted Kingdom of Arendelle where Queen Anna and Kristoff are celebrating their engagement. Everything is done in princess style with Disney.
The festive musical performances will have you dancing in your seats as you enjoy a hearty Norwegian-inspired meal.
Athena’s first favorite movie in her life was Frozen so attending a Frozen-Themed dinner was nostalgic for us both. I think it’s safe to say that we both know the words to every song and can pretty much recite the entire movie.
Our family loved the immersive experience and the care taken to fully transport us to an Arendelle-like environment.
The Little Mermaid

The Little Mermaid is a Broadway-style production that brings the beloved 1989 Disney animated film, The Little Mermaid, to life before your eyes.
Created exclusively for the Disney Wish, this Disney classic is told in a sensational production that features dazzling special effects, innovative theatrical design, artistic choreography, and a reimagined script and score that will delight guests of all ages.
I was just 9 years old when The Little Mermaid was released on film and I love it every bit as much today as I did the first time I saw it. Seeing it live in this way was my favorite moment on the ship.
Hero Zone
We are an extremely competitive family so any event where we can compete against each other is usually where you’ll find us. The Hero Zone is an area with action-packed physical challenges and game-show-style competitions that will have you challenging each other again and again.
Splash Away
When we weren’t competing against each other in the Hero Zone or dining in creative spaces, we were enjoying the upper decks of the Disney Wish. Home to 10 pools and water play areas, there is something for everyone in the splash areas of the ship.
Max loved the Toy Story Splash Zone, featuring larger-than-life rubber bath toys and the Slide-a-saurus Rex family slide.
Kids Club
The Kids Club on the Disney Wish is an imaginative dream come true for kids of all ages. There are immersive play spaces, imaginative games, classic fairytale settings come to life, and surprise visits from Disney characters.
We didn’t have a problem getting our kids to go to the kids club but we did have a problem getting them to leave. They both loved it so much that they wanted to be there all the time.
Immersive play spaces, imaginative games and surprise visits from popular Characters are sure to delight kids 3 to 12 years of age inside this lavishly themed activity center inspired by Disney and Marvel stories.
Athena loved that the counselors always had a fun list of activities to experience like treasure hunts, games, and interactive story time. Even getting into the kids club was a special treat. How cool is it that kids slide down a slide and landed in the magical club? With automatic hand washing stations and exceptional cleaning practices, it was a clean, safe place to enjoy being a kid.
For little cruises from 6 months to 3 years, It’s a Small World Nursery offers specially trained counselors in a whimsical daycare center inspired by the beloved Disney attraction.
A huge thank you to Disney Cruises for inviting us on the Disney Wish and allowing us to enjoy the inaugural cruise.
