Club Med Quebec Charlevoix Bucket List

Club Med Quebec Charlevoix

I’ve been a huge fan of Club Med for over a decade. They have an abundance of activities, dining, and accommodations that make the Club Med experience exceptional. All of my Club Med experience, however, has been at warm-weather destinations like Club Med Cancun Yucatan and Club Med Ixtapa. When I learned of Club Med Quebec Charlevoix, Club Med’s first North American Mountain Resort, I knew I had to check it out. It combines the all-inclusive resort experience that I love with winter activities like skiing, and it’s immersed in a natural landscape with amazing views of the St. Lawrence River. A wide array of activities are offered year-round to experience the region’s ever-changing landscape, but it is the dreamy winter wonderland that called my name. Check out my Club Med Quebec Charlevoix bucket list for the most amazing experiences at Club Med Quebec Charlevoix.

Skiing

Skiing Club Med QuebecOne of the most amazing reasons to stay at Club Med Quebec Charlevoix is because of the proximity to Le Massif Ski Mountain. Most ski vacations can be a lot of work. You have to pay for lift tickets, rent ski gear, enroll yourself and your kids in ski school, and carry all your gear from mountain to mountain. That process can sometimes be enough to say that ski vacations are just too much work. At Club Med Quebec Charlevoix, you can collect your ski equipment and life passes, store your equipment in one of the storage lockers located near the rental shop, and be on the mountain all within in a few steps of the resort or directly in the resort. All-inclusive packages include ski passes, ski lessons, Kids Club, and unlimited access to après-ski activities.

The mountain and resort offer stunning waterfront views on the St Lawrence River. There is a wide-variety of ski runs for all levels and the greatest vertical drop East of the Rockies. Additionally, there is an exceptional 7.5 km-long sled run.

Lift passes and lessons are included for all levels and ages 4+.

After checking in, you’ll pick up your passes and equipment and you can hit the slopes the very next morning.

For the ultimate bucket list experience, I’d suggest taking advantage of the free ski lessons. Adult lessons range from beginner all the way to expert so there are options for all abilities.

Restaurants and Bars

Bar at Club Med Quebec Charlevoix

Club Med Québec’s main restaurant is Le Marché, serving a buffet at breakfast, lunch, and dinner with several cooking stations. In the mornings, you’ll find fresh juices, croissants, eggs, meats, cheese and charcuterie, and pancakes. Lunch and dinner have international selections plus freshly-made pizzas and pastas. Gelato, fruits, pastries, cakes, and more cheese await for dessert.

I would highly suggest putting the poutine at Le Marché on your bucket list. You can top it with as many cheese curds as you’d like and the gravy is heavenly.

The bar in the center of the Gourmet Lounge is the perfect place to begin or end the evening; and local Charlevoix foods are particularly highlighted in Le Chalet Gourmet Lounge. It’s part of the all-inclusive plan, but you’ll need a reservation to enjoy its seasonal multi-course, family-style dinners.

Bar Le Météore is the ideal place to gather with friends and family to enjoy a drink, relax on the comfortable sofas, watch the shows in the evening, and enjoy the views on the terrace. it was our favorite place to be when we weren’t on the mountain. It’s lively whatever the time of day.

Download the Club Med app and add your reservation. You can see the resort activities on the itinerary and plan your very own  Après-Ski bucket list filled with music, entertainment, and fun at Bar Le Météore.

Kids Club

Club Med Kids ClubKids aged four months to 17 years have access to four different kids clubs at Club Med, differentiated by age, with a full range of activities including ski, snowboarding, and mountain biking lessons by certified instructors.

Care for babies and toddlers, plus babysitting, is at extra cost.

As part of the children’s club, Skiing is available from 4 years and up and snowboarding from 8 years and up, taught in ability groups. At lunchtime, children can eat with their friends or with their family before going back to their lessons. At après-ski time, they take part in fun and creative activities. As well as rehearsing for their own little show.

Kids Club isn’t just fantastic for children; it gives adults time to participate in activities that they wouldn’t, or couldn’t, do with their children. I love going on vacation with my kids and making memories that will last a lifetime. I love seeing the world through their eyes and teaching them new skills that continuously develop throughout their lives. But having a safe place where they can engage with other children and learn new activities, is invaluable. I had the opportunity to ski more difficult slopes and visit the spa while my children were taken care of at the kids club. At the end of their experience, we came together as a family and felt more enriched and happy.

Après-Ski

Shows at Club Med Quebec

Club Med Quebec Charlevoix really stands out for its Après-Ski options. It includes a 25-yard-long indoor pool (complete with shallow wading area for kids), outdoor hot tub, and co-ed eucalyptus steam bath, plus two gyms. You can also book a treatment in the Spa by Sothys (at extra cost), or enjoy the views over the St. Lawrence River and the circuit of outdoor hot and cold pools, indoor dry sauna and steam bath, and even a snow fountain.

In the evenings, the focus turns to Club Med Québec’s gourmet restaurants and the large theater area with an open bar, nightly specialty cocktails and snacks, plus on-stage entertainment.

Although the list of Après-Ski options is extensive, I’d suggest adding the outdoor hot tub with stunning views of the St Lawrence and the evening entertainment to your Club Med Quebec Charlevoix bucket list. If you can catch one of the cirque-like shows on the schedule, it will be the highlight of your stay. Club Med excels at providing the best entertainment.

Excursions

Quebec City Château FrontenacClub Med Québec offers a wide variety of excursions. You could go dog sledding between the snowy pines, take a tour of Quebec City and the historic Chateau Frontenac, or explore the impressive Hôtel de Glace, North America’s only ice hotel.

Each of the excursion options from Club Med is bucket list worthy. Since the Hôtel de Glace is the only ice hotel in North America, though, it should be on the top of your list.
